Passat Volkswagen Sedans Curiosities
Two new-generation VW Passats stolen from the premises of Volkswagen

Just like that. It may sound like a strange headline, but nothing could be further from our intention. Indeed, two units of the new Passat, which is currently being presented internationally, have been stolen.
To make matters worse, they were stolen from the premises of Volkswagen itself in Germany, which casts doubt on the security of the German manufacturer’s facilities.
It seems that the arrival of the new generation Passat (B8) has generated massive anticipation, even among those who shouldn’t, such as the friends of other people’s property. So much so that two units have been taken in what appears to be a very well-planned heist.
According to the Emden police department, a man (still unidentified) managed, a few days ago, to escape from the Volkswagen facilities aboard a new-generation Passat, without even a license plate. It was therefore a unit that had either just come off the assembly line and was awaiting dispatch, or was being used for internal travel within the complex.
Shortly afterwards, the man abandoned the vehicle on the public road; however, thanks to a radar photograph, security teams have obtained a clear image of the culprit, whose identity is now under investigation.
In addition, earlier this month another unit was stolen from the same plant, which raises questions about the complex’s security and alarm systems. It is not yet known whether both thefts are related, but the police are already investigating both incidents.
