VÄTH pumps 680 horsepower into the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé

VÄTH has just unveiled an incredible project based on the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé, a car whose power they have raised to 680 horses

Bored with the rather sad 450 horses in your new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé? Perhaps Väth has the answer you were looking for. It may be quite radical for some, but if you’re one of those who think there’s nothing better than a car with 700 horsepower, this tuner’s proposal will surely appeal to you.

That said, before going further, let’s talk about price: no less than €64,308 for the kit. In other words, you have to supply the car yourself. The press release doesn’t specify what the kit includes, but I assume that for that price it covers not only the mechanical upgrades but also everything needed to make your car as close as possible to the one in the photo.

With pricing out of the way, let’s get to what really matters: the upgrades to the 6.2-litre V8 fitted in your Mercedes C63 AMG. These go well beyond a new supercharger, including everything needed for it to work properly: a new intercooler system, a high-flow exhaust, a revised ECU and so on. All of this is enough to raise output from the original 450 horsepower and 600 Nm to 680 horsepower and 840 Nm of peak torque.

With such a power increase, it’s no surprise VÄTH is boasting about impressive figures such as 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds or a top speed of 335 km/h, numbers that are more typical of a supercar than of a sports coupé like the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé.

To keep such power and performance under control, a height-adjustable sports coilover suspension has been installed, which can lower the car by between 20 and 65 mm. The press release also mentions a new, much more powerful brake kit with 380 mm discs on the front axle.

Finally, let’s look at the more mundane matter of the car’s styling, an area that has received a new front spoiler and rear diffuser, both in carbon fibre, as well as widened fenders and a rear spoiler, all designed to improve the car’s aerodynamics. For the finishing touch, there are 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-performance tyres in 255/20 at the front and 295/25 at the rear.

Inside, there are new details such as a sports steering wheel with new wood or carbon finishes, a speedometer now updated to 360 km/h, leather upholstery and hundreds of carbon-fibre details and inserts.
