Video: this is how the Singer ACS flies and slides around without fear
Singer recently announced the arrival of the Singer ACS, a faithful reinterpretation of the Porsche 911 Safari that today delights us with all kinds of jumps and slides.
Not many days ago, we told you about Singer’s latest and spectacular creation, the Singer ACS. That name corresponds to a faithful reinterpretation of the legendary Porsche 911 Safari, only with the characteristic touch of the American company. And it is that, amid so many SUVs, a mysterious customer has dared to commission this marvel of 4×4 capability and sportiness, two characteristics that blend harmoniously to deliver a simply superb result, wrapped in doses of nostalgia and modernity.
Singer won us over with an impressive photo gallery and with data that sought to demonstrate not only respect for the original 911 Safari, but also the good workmanship of an air-cooled engine like the one in this converted 964. However, and as if that were not enough, the people at Singer have won us over even more with this video, in which we can enjoy the ACS jumping and sliding as if its life depended on it.
And it is that the ACS -All-Terrain Competition Study- has a series of elements perfectly suited to pulling off all those feats without suffering in the attempt. Besides a styling suited to running over all kinds of adverse terrain, Singer has equipped this creation with a suspension adjustable across up to five levels depending on the circumstances and the driving style we wish to adopt.

In addition, it features an underbody protection plate made of aluminium and half a centimetre thick, considerable ground clearance, and aerodynamics specifically engineered for high-speed running. But above all, its engine plays a part in this. That role is taken by an air-cooled flat-six boxer capable of producing 450 CV.
We must also consider the five-speed sequential gearbox and a permanent all-wheel-drive system supported by rear, centre and front limited-slip differentials. With all this — and skilled hands, of course — we get a result like the one shown in this video, where the Singer ACS spends its time sliding and running everywhere.

Without a doubt, it is welcome that some brands, however exclusive as Singer, dare to bring concepts like this to life. And we must not forget that the owner of the two ACS has given the go-ahead for other potential customers to take advantage and create something similar. So who knows? Perhaps we will come across more creatures like the ACS enlivening the automotive landscape.
