VinFast could be ready to set foot on European soil from next year, 2022. This company, originating in Vietnam, was founded in 2018 and plans to expand across the European continent over the course of next year. Furthermore, the first units are expected to hit the roads during the second half of 2022.

For the time being, it is unknown in which market the future models of the Vietnamese brand will be available for purchase, but it has been confirmed that the Netherlands will be one of the first member countries of the European Union to offer this brand to its citizens. According to forecasts, everything points to July being the month chosen for the landing. From next summer onwards, the new units of the VinFast models will start to be seen on the roads.

Everything we know about VinFast, the Vietnamese brand that will arrive in Europe in 2022

The VinFast eV35 and the VinFast eV36 will be the first models with SUV bodywork to arrive in European countries. These models will feature a large-capacity 90 kWh battery that will allow them to offer a range that will far exceed 500 kilometres on a single charge. These new SUVs will have a wheelbase of 2.95 metres, which will translate into very spacious interiors.

The Vietnamese brand has promised all its customers that its European models will have very good build quality and “very interesting” finishes. As far as equipment is concerned, the new Asian SUVs will have a large safety specification, and the same goes for comfort. The brand has assured that this will achieve “a better value-for-money ratio” compared with other brands.

Europe will not be VinFast’s only destination, as the Vietnamese brand will also expand into the United States. In these two markets, the new expanding manufacturer will present new models, but for now, in Europe we will have to make do with getting to know the VinFast eV35 and the VinFast eV36. Specialist sources have made public that the Vietnamese manufacturer produced more than 30,000 vehicles during 2020 based on General Motors technologies and BMW.

Likewise, the company has also signed partnerships with ZF, Faurecia and even with Bosch. It is important to highlight that among the human capital are workers who come from brands as important as Nissan, Toyota and Tesla. Thomas Chrétien, VinFast’s marketing director in Europe, has stated that “the cars from this Vietnamese company come with a very luxurious interior, but their price is very affordable”.
