C4 Citroen Volkswagen Industry
Volkswagen and the Citroën C4 are the big winners of 2013 in Spain

2013 has just closed, a year that was not free of difficulties for the Spanish industry but was nevertheless positive, thanks to a rebound in sales of new units. Summing up the sales figures a little, the brands that have benefited most have been Volkswagen and Citroën, thanks to the C4.
The reasons are plain to see: Volkswagen has been the brand that sold the most vehicles in our country, with 63,927 units registered, according to the year-end figures. This figure represents an increase of 2.3% for the German brand compared with 2012.
As for models, the battle was very close. On one side we have the Citroën C4, but on the other a very strong rival who has already been a protagonist in other years stood as a candidate: the Renault Mégane. However, this battle for supremacy had only one winner, since the C4 overtook the Mégane by a small margin: 23,837 against 23,310.
As for the performance of other brands last year, it is worth noting the good figures achieved by Seat, which placed as the second best-selling brand in Spain, with 59,096 units. Peugeot, Opel and Renault also closed a positive year, placed according to units sold, behind Seat.
If we talk about other models, in third place another candidate for a permanent spot on this kind of “best-sellers podium” has come in. This is the Seat Ibiza, which by a very small margin fails to overtake the Renault Mégane as the second best-seller of the year, closing 2013 with 23,141 units. The Nissan Qashqai and the Volkswagen Polo complete the top positions of the best-sellers in our country.
