Volkswagen has unveiled at the Hanover Fair a new prototype for a possible electric taxi, the Volkswagen Milano Taxi. With this new concept, the Wolfsburg-based brand aims to promote transport powered by electricity and thus reduce pollution in large cities.

In its design, the Milano Taxi stands out for its fairly compact dimensions, and it also has a single rear door with a sliding opening on the vehicle’s right-hand side. Inside, it has only one front seat, for the driver, since the other front seat is intended for stowing the customer’s luggage and belongings.

The electric prototype designed for urban transport features an electric motor with a maximum power of 85 kW, whose energy is supplied by a lithium battery located under the chassis. The VW Milano Taxi reaches a top speed of 120 km/h with a considerable range of around 300 km. However, for now it is only a concept, so we will have to wait to see the first generation of this electric taxi.
