Many nature lovers are fascinated by certain conversions carried out on small vans or trucks, in which the rear section becomes a little house of sorts. This idea gave birth to the Volkswagen Rockton 4Motion.

As you can see, we are basically looking at a standard Transporter, but adapted by Volkswagen to boost its off-road capabilities thanks to the fitting of new suspension and reinforced damping, which, among other things, has raised the overall height by 3 cm.

If you decide to get one of these “vans”, you will, as is very common with Volkswagen, have to choose between two different trim levels. Expedition essentially adds a transmission specially prepared for off-road operations, in addition to fitting 16-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres.

The Protective package fits protective plates to the transmission, engine, fuel tank, exhaust and so on, on top of the equipment offered by the Expedition trim. Optionally, Volkswagen offers the possibility of installing a desk table inside the cabin that is easy to remove.

As for powertrains, this vehicle will reach the market with the 2.0 TDI engine in 140 and 180 CV, paired with a Haldex 4-Motion all-wheel-drive system with a rear limited-slip differential. The price of this beast is 34,545 euros including taxes in Germany.
