After presenting various models, Volkswagen reveals the launch date for the fourth generation of the Volkswagen Multivan. Known as the T7 Multivan, it will arrive in June and update this classic model with interesting proposals both inside and outside.

That model was launched in 1985 with the Volkswagen Transporter and has been updated over the years. The third generation is called the T6, although after the update it received in 2019 it was renamed T6.1. Now it faces a new decade with a more modern look and will coexist with the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, the electric version of the model.

Immutable DNA

The legendary Bulli has received several updates to its appearance. At the front, some features of the brand’s current models can be recognized, such as the Golf Mk8. But all of this keeps its purely Bulli DNA. At first glance the essence of the van is maintained, and purists will appreciate that without any problem.

Inside, work has also been done to give the space more comfort. For example, the gear lever has been removed, as the gearbox will be automatic in all cases. The parking brake has also been removed, as it is now electronic. This frees up more space for the driver and passenger, which will offer greater comfort on journeys.

The information and entertainment system is controlled through a 10-inch screen, and there are driving assistance elements such as 360º cameras. It also incorporates a multipurpose table that serves as a console for the occupants of the front seats.

As for engines, the usual diesel and petrol configurations are expected, although there could also be one or more hybrid versions. What is ruled out is the purely electric version, as that role will be fulfilled by the Volkswagen ID.Buzz.
