Volkswagen takes preventive measures to protect itself from Porsche

These two German manufacturers, despite being very close, have recently been having a rather poor relationship. And it’s all because Porsche wanted to take control of Volkswagen, as it has finally achieved thanks to increasing its stake through the acquisition of further share packages. However, as expected, the soap opera is not over.
The lawyers of Volkswagen have drawn up a document, for now a draft, with which they would manage to keep the eyes of Porsche away from the company’s daily internal business and activities, having to show its new owner only the information relating to finances.
According to Automotive News Europe, this document would also force the Stuttgart firm to pay to obtain other internal data of Volkswagen, taking advantage of its disadvantaged position, and any contract signed with Porsche would be considered as a third party rather than as an owner.
This would mean more problems for Porsche when it comes to making a profit from its recent share purchase in Volkswagen, but nevertheless, with a favourable figure for stock market values at the time of the acquisition, this will eventually bear fruit for the new owner of the Wolfsburg firm.
However, this should not be considered over, as both manufacturers will surely keep making moves to counterattack, and with rumours such as the latest one about a supposed collaboration between the two companies to revive the Porsche 914 from the 70s that excited their followers so much, they will give rise to new episodes in this story.
