Volkswagen will show the Passat Alltrack at the Tokyo Motor Show

Volkswagen will launch early next year the most rugged version of its Passat model, which will occupy the space between the Passat Variant and the Tiguan. This new version will be presented at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show, which opens its doors in early December.

With the Passat Alltrack, the German brand aims to respond to those drivers who need a conventional vehicle but who, on some occasions, want to enjoy off-road capabilities. It thus features new bumpers with much more pronounced wheel arches.

Furthermore, the Passat Alltrack gains ground clearance and has angles that make driving on unpaved roads easier. As for the available mechanics, it will offer two petrol engines and two diesel engines. Both petrol versions feature direct-injection turbochargers and output 160 and 210 CV.

The diesel versions are available with 140 and 170 CV, with consumption of 5.9 and 6.0 litres per 100 kilometres, respectively. The two most powerful versions come as standard with 4MOTION all-wheel drive combined with the DSG dual-clutch gearbox, while all-wheel drive is optional for the 140 CV TDI engine.
