Volkswagen will use the Jetta name on its new compact

The German company announced last year that it would launch two cars designed specifically for the needs of these consumers in the North American market, but the current market direction has forced the German manufacturer to opt for their global marketing.

In addition, for some months now, spy photos of a new saloon that has no name for the time being have been circulating online. However, current information indicates that the new car will be sold under the Jetta brand in the United States and will probably change its name when it is introduced in Europe.

It is rumoured that the new compact will be unveiled in June and that a few months later a GLI sporty variant could follow, provided that public reaction to the first model is positive. Images after the jump.
