Volvo ends production of the C30

After more than six years on the market, Volvo is closing production of its only compact, the C30. For now, it has no successor to take on the competition.

Volvo has ended production of its C30, even though the Swedish carmaker has no direct replacement for the brand’s entry-level model. For now, and until they decide whether to replace it, they will only be able to compete against other brands in a similar segment thanks to the V40.

Since Volvo is trying to get rid of the remaining C30 units, the most likely outcome is that attractive sales promotions will start to be offered to clear the stock currently sitting both in factories and dealerships.

It may not be a bad idea to get one of them right now, since, apart from getting a good unit at a lower price than usual, it is also a vehicle that, given its low sales numbers, will not be easy to spot on the street. On the other hand, it should be said that has been on the market for more than six years and its lines are starting to look somewhat dated.

It should also be mentioned that if any of you live in the United States, you still have the chance to take home a limited-edition C30 Polestar of 250 units with a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 250 CV. Its price is $32,445.
