Volvo launches itself onto the web to promote its vehicles

The main weapon for winning over any market is marketing, and combined with good promotions it ensures that the launch of any vehicle model is a success. Volvo — a major company — knows these two keys well, and lately the Swedish brand is trying to reach its users through the Internet, which is becoming the most important promotional medium of these times.
The latest news from Volvo is a curious application it has launched through its website. In it, we can choose any model in the Volvo range, and besides showing us its features and price, it lets us see how many kilometres we could cover with just one tank of fuel.
For example, if we choose the Volvo V70 1.6L DRIVe, apart from telling us that its consumption is 4.9 L per 100 km and its emissions are 129 g CO2/km, it indicates that we can cover a distance of 1,438 kilometres with one tank of petrol. The application also lets us choose a destination, so if, for example, we pick Madrid as the starting point, we could take our V70 and go see, for instance, the San Marino Motorcycle Grand Prix. And if instead of Madrid we pick Barcelona, we could reach Prague without having to take a plane.
Another curious feature of the website is the space devoted to the S60 Concept, the intro is quite eye-catching and within that space we have all the information about the model, but the most striking part of this space is the possibility of downloading a game whose protagonist is the model in question. The game is not bad at all; if you don’t want to install it, you can watch some video on YouTube.
