We already know everything about the new FIAT Grande Panda: specifications and price

The FIAT Grande Panda is born with a global spirit, and its availability will not be limited to the Italian or European market, but will go much further. It is not ruled out that it could even be sold in North America.

FIAT unveiled the first images of what will be its most affordable electric model in mid-June, generating great anticipation for its future market launch. Almost a month later, and taking advantage of the celebration of the Italian brand’s 125th anniversary, FIAT has finally officially presented the new electric Grande Panda, publishing new images of the vehicle and revealing all the details we did not yet know.

The new FIAT Grande Panda will be the first low-cost electric model from the Italian brand, with a price in Europe that should be around 25,000 euros. The company also states that this model will mark the brand’s return to the global market, as its availability will be very wide.

The Grande Panda will be the first FIAT model based on Stellantis’s Smart Car platform, one of four that will reach the market in the coming years. Stellantis debuted this new platform with the launch of the Citroën e-C3 in Europe earlier this year, which was later followed by the new electric Opel Frontera.

It runs in the family

FIAT highlights that this new electric model is strongly inspired by the original Panda of the 1980s. A claim that no one can doubt simply by glancing at the images published by the manufacturer. FIAT’s designers have undoubtedly done a fantastic job, borrowing the design line of the original Panda but adapting it to current times with a modern and bold look. At 3.99 metres long, the Grande Panda is the perfect vehicle for getting around the city, without ruling out other alternative uses.

It will be available in seven fun colours: red, white, black, green, brown, blue and yellow. It keeps the same freshness inside, with a cheerful design and the incorporation of two screens of 10 and 10.25 inches for the instrument cluster and the central screen of the infotainment system. Regarding the latter, the Italian manufacturer explains that the shape of the dashboard is inspired by the Lingotto test track located on the rooftop of FIAT’s plant in Turin. A curious detail that also gives this model a touch of exclusivity.

FIAT will launch the new Grande Panda in versions with electric and also hybrid propulsion systems. The fully electric version will feature an 83 kW electric motor, paired with a 44 kWh battery pack with which, according to the company, it will be possible to travel more than 320 km on a single charge.

As for its market launch, the Grande Panda will reach European roads this same year. FIAT has also confirmed it will be available in the Middle East and Africa, without ruling out other markets in the future, including North America, although the latter is under consideration and has not yet been confirmed.
