We will no longer see the Chrysler and Dodge with right-hand drive; FCA is ending production due to low sales
FCA has decided to cancel production of Chrysler and Dodge models with right-hand drive due to their production costs and low sales figures

The FCA Group has announced that its Chrysler and Dodge models will no longer be manufactured with right-hand drive. The decision was taken because the company could not afford the production costs of these models, which are only sold in selected countries.
The Chrysler and Dodge vehicles are built at the company’s plants in Windsor and Brampton (Ontario), and the cancellation will have an impact on the countries where they are imported, where sales figures are low. The markets affected by this decision include the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Japan, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and even Australia.

Alessia Terranova, public relations manager at FCA Australia, has confirmed that some Chrysler models will continue to be sold in the country. “I don’t know what will happen in other countries, but in Australia the Chrysler 300 with right-hand drive will continue to be sold. As for Dodge, we don’t know what will happen, but we will try to negotiate with the US,” Terranova said.
For its part, the chief executive of FCA South Africa, Robin van Rensburg, has regretted this decision as both brands will leave the country’s market at the beginning of next year.
According to a report published by FCA, although production is cancelled at the Canadian factories, the brand will continue to show its interest in right-hand-drive cars in other models.
FCA announced two years ago that 2017 would be the last year in which Chrysler products would be offered in the United Kingdom, due to the decline in sales and the need to focus on the Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands. Dodge left the UK market in 2010.
