Which are the least-sold cars in December 2021?

As every month, a few days ago we reviewed the best-selling cars in December, with the Hyundai Tucson coming out on top, followed by the Peugeot 2008 and the Dacia Duster. But what about the least-sold cars in December? Let’s get to know them!

In December 2021, registrations of passenger cars and SUVs fell by 18.7% compared with the same period in 2020, reaching 86,081 units. Still, it’s not all bad: for the year as a whole, registrations rose by 1% compared with 2020, to 859,477 units.

In the words of Noemi Navas, communications director at ANFAC, “2022 has turned out to be even more complicated in terms of registrations than the previous year, despite the lockdowns caused by the pandemic. On top of the uncertainty and economic crisis caused by Covid-19, we have added the shortage of product due to the lack of semiconductors and bottlenecks in logistics”.

Some of the models may catch your eye, since we have not included models priced above 50,000 euros, nor electric cars such as the BMW iX or those from Lynk&Co. In case you’re interested, Elon Musk’s brand did not register a single unit of the Tesla Model S or the Tesla Model X.

It is worth noting that luxury brands such as Lamborghini, McLaren and Lotus did not manage to put a single unit on sale in December. By contrast, Rolls-Royce managed to place a Rolls-Royce Ghost during the last month of the year.
