You will be able to lock the Sync system of Ford while driving

I won’t claim now that I have never answered my phone while driving, because I have, and I still do. I usually try to keep the call short and if it’s something very important or I need to send a text message, I pull over to the side of the road. For those who are a bit observant, you will have seen how many people drive and talk on the phone at the same time without even paying attention to what they are doing at the wheel.

But Ford is now introducing an option that allows the user to partially block the connectivity of the Sync system . This way, only the connectivity the user wants will remain available: they can block incoming messages or phone calls while the vehicle is in motion. The only option left would be making calls that are activated by voice.

For those who rely heavily on text messages, Sync will read the messages aloud to them. The latest development of the system did not allow connection with all phones, but some code changes will allow all devices to connect to Sync, without the driver being distracted.

In addition, the next generation of Sync will allow many more commands to be controlled by voice and will block information on screen that is not essential for driving. The goal is not to limit the user, but to protect them so that the phone and its dashboard interface do not put us through unpleasant moments while we drive.
