The Tesla Cybertruck pickup has been officially unveiled

We finally know what the new Tesla Cybertruck looks like, a vehicle that will leave no one indifferent

Not because it has been one of the most anticipated models and one of the most speculated about, does its presentation lose emotion and interest; quite the opposite.

That is why the presentation, in which Elon Musk, as usual, was master of ceremonies, participant and protagonist, as he has already accustomed us to, placed on stage a vehicle that is, to say the least, surprising.

The Tesla pickup is anything but familiar, neither in its shape nor in its features. But, far from being an alternative option to, for example, either the Rivian or the Bollinger, the Tesla Cybertruck claims to be the most versatile car in the world, even more so than the GFG Kangaroo.

The features of Tesla’s new vehicle

Be that as it may, this Tesla pickup is not a conventional pick-up, but it keeps characteristics typical of one, for example, its approach and departure angles in off-road mode and a considerable ground clearance for fording (35 degrees approach and 40 departure with 40 cm between the body and the ground), as well as a cargo capacity of up to 2,832 litres.

This is because, with dimensions set at 5,885 mm long, 2,027 wide and 1,905 high, the architecture of this pickup offers an interior space for up to 6 occupants, with a rear bench for 3 people and one more between the front seats.

The range of the Tesla Cybertruck will depend on the chosen battery and its capacity, offering from 300 up to 800 km, with an intermediate one of around 300. If the version of more than 500 miles is homologated with that capacity, it would force a review of the list of electric cars with the longest range, leaving this pickup as the new leader.

To move a vehicle like this, the drivetrain will offer three versions: the single motor with rear-axle drive. With two motors, Dual Motor, and all-wheel drive or, with three motors, Tri Motor, with all-wheel drive.

This will condition the price of the Tesla Cybertruck, which is expected to enter production at the end of next year with the first units available by 2021.

Thus, the price of the Tesla pickup, for the United States, will start at 39,900 dollars for the Tesla Cybertruck Single Motor RWD version, then the Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD from $49,000 and, finally, the Tesla Cybertruck Tri-Motor AWD version from 69,900 dollars, which would confirm the intention hinted at by Elon Musk himself of selling his pickup for less than 50,000 dollars.
