2018 F1 Brazilian GP: preview, timetable and how to watch it on TV

Check here all the timetables to follow the 2018 F1 Brazilian GP, the penultimate race of the season, held this weekend from 9 to 11 November.

El GP de Brasil es el penúltimo de la temporada

The Formula 1 World Championship arrives in Brazil for the 2018 Brazilian GP. And just as last year, the championship arrives already decided: if in the previous season Lewis Hamilton was crowned world champion at the Mexican GP, this 2018 season the Briton repeated the scenario to celebrate his fifth title, drawing level with Fangio and two behind the most successful driver in this sport, the great Michael Schumacher.

Even so, the constructors’ championship standings remain to be decided, something that matters more to the teams than it seems. We are not only talking about the top position, where Mercedes leads Ferrari by 55 points, but also about the battle for other places, such as fourth place, where Renault wants to stay ahead of Haas, a team that at the start of the season had chances of being the first behind the three “big” ones.

Focusing a little on the history of this grand prix, it must be said that the Brazilian GP has been run since 1972, and uninterrupted from then until today. A breeding ground for great drivers and champions such as Ayrton Senna, Emerson Fittipaldi and Nelson Piquet, the driver who has won the Brazilian GP the most times in history is a Frenchman: Alain Prost, with six victories. Of those still on the grid, Vettel is the one who has won here the most, on three occasions. Fernando Alonso does not know what it is to win this grand prix, but it was on Brazilian soil that he celebrated his two world titles, so returning to this race will be special for him, especially in his last year in F1.

Some Brazilian GP races were held at the Jacarepagua circuit, which bears the name of Nelson Piquet, but the quintessential track associated with this grand prix is the José Pace Autodrome, better known as Interlagos. Located in a suburb of the city of São Paulo, it measures 4,309 kilometres in length and has 15 corners. It has always been famous for its potholes (mostly fixed after the latest resurfacing), for running anti-clockwise, and for some dangerous points, such as the pit lane.
