3 new electric cars from Toyota and Lexus for 2021

According to the latest reports, Toyota and Lexus are reportedly set to launch 3 new 100% electric models by 2021. This news confirms the growing interest among various manufacturers in their commitment to electric power.

Although Japanese manufacturers are keeping quiet about the new electric models expected in the coming years, it is also inevitable to realise that they are approaching, no matter how much secrecy they try to maintain; in fact, it is speculated that 3 models are on the way…

To name just one example, this very month at the Tokyo Motor Show, the new concept of Toyota, the Toyota LQ, will be displayed in all its glory, as well as new and mysterious electric models from Lexus.

Following the recent unveiling of the RAV4 plug-in hybrid, it is speculated that the next SUVs from Lexus could also feature this same technology…

Speaking of the latest launch of the latest RX, the chief engineer at Lexus, Naoisha Hatta, has confirmed that the company has all the technology needed to develop several plug-in hybrids; they are simply waiting for the right moment to do so.

“We already have the technology; we are waiting for the right moment. It has to make business sense. It has to generate profits for us. If you look at what is happening in the market right now, you realise how excessive the prices of electric vehicles are at the moment. We seek to develop models that all kinds of customers can afford.”

These new vehicles will provide an additional boost for Japanese manufacturers, enabling them, among other things, to match other brands when it comes to CO2 emissions, especially in Europe, where standard regulations have become increasingly strict.
