The 41′ AMG Carbon Edition is a boat from Mercedes-AMG developed together with Cigarette Racing

The new Mercedes-AMG boat is built from carbon fibre and features an optimised centre of gravity to deliver ideal handling for its future owners. The Cigarette Racing engineers pursued a single goal during its construction: weight reduction.

The 41′ AMG Carbon Edition is up to 250 kg lighter than its predecessor, the GT R Performance from 2017. This figure was achieved through the optimised combination of numerous lightweight materials, carbon fibre among them. The hull measures 12.5 metres in length and is built using an innovative sandwich construction with structural laminates. Notably, the deck, the helm, the hardtop and its lining are all made of carbon fibre.

Jaw-dropping figures

The new Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing boat is the eleventh production model for this partnership. It is powered by four Mercury Racing 400R engines capable of delivering around 1,580 CV. With these figures, the 41′ AMG Carbon Edition can reach 142 km/h. In addition, it can carry eight passengers at top speed, or up to twenty if cruising at a steady speed.

Tobias Moers, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG, has stated that “for twelve years we have been exploring the limits of performance on land and at sea through Cigarette Racing. Inspired by the new four-door Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Coupé, the 41′ AMG Carbon Edition impresses with its high performance and expressive design”.

The design of the 41′ AMG Carbon Edition

“The new Cigarette Racing boat emphasises the aesthetics of Mercedes-AMG, where the passion for style and power is clearly evident. The brand’s graphics become the symbol of this experience,” added Gorden Wagener.

The hull of the new Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing boat is finished in a paint exclusively developed for the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé, combining glossy blacks with intense reds. Inside, the upholstery is perfectly matched to the exterior paint. Furthermore, the stitching patterns have been designed exclusively for this special edition.

The upholstery also features innovation: the Cigarette team has developed the so-called ‘Cigarette Cool’, a fabric capable of reflecting up to 30% of absorbed heat. Technology is also very present on this boat, which features three 17-inch multifunction touchscreens.

The inspiration comes from the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé

Specifically, the version chosen is the four-door Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Coupé, indeed the same Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic we tested that we published a few months ago.

A car powered by an engine, enhanced by AMG, a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, capable of producing 620 CV and a maximum torque of 900 Nm.
