Citroën Ami One Concept, the electric urban solution proposed by the French brand

At the Geneva Motor Show, Citroën will present its new electric concept designed for urban mobility, with a small car for getting around the city

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly fashionable and new models of this type keep arriving. Not all of them are large cars designed for the open road; some are small city cars designed for urban traffic. And some are even designed to be shared on urban mobility platforms. This is the case of the Citroën Ami One Concept, a small 100% electric vehicle that could be part of a shared transport platform or be owned by a private individual.

The look of the Citroën Ami One Concept is very geometric, as you can see in the images and the video. The driver’s door is hinged at the rear, while the passenger door opens from the front, creating a rather curious symmetry. The front and rear bumpers are identical, although the rear one has a recess for the number plate.

Inside, it has space for two people, with a 5-inch multimedia screen showing the instrumentation and a system similar to a head-up display that mirrors the phone’s screen. The intuitive operation of the car and a Bluetooth speaker make it possible to discover a pleasant way to make a journey around the city.

Users can find all the information about consumption, battery status and other relevant data on their phone. Another curious feature of this concept is a sound signature that warns of the car’s presence at low speeds and in the city. A rule that has become law and will be present in all electric cars sold from last January onward.

With this concept, which measures 2.5 metres long, 1.5 metres wide and another 1.5 metres high, Citroën wants to move forward in electric urban mobility. It has a top speed of 45 km/h, which can be very useful, since there are countries where no driving licence is needed to drive it.

The range offered by its lithium-ion battery is around 100 kilometres, which allows for a fairly comfortable journey around the city. The Citroën Ami One Concept can recharge its battery in two hours and can also do so with a cable connected to a household socket.
