5 supercars that the Audi TT RS outpaces in acceleration
The compact sports car delivers 400 CV of power and reaches 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
The new Audi TT RS has become one of the fastest models on the market, especially from 0 to 100 km/h. The German sports car offers 400 CV of power and, thanks to its Quattro all-wheel-drive system, can reach 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds (3.7 officially). With these incredible performance figures, the Audi TT RS is capable of embarrassing more than one supercar. Here are five examples:
1. Ferrari F40: 4.2 seconds

The iconic Ferrari F40 was one of the first models to feature twin turbos in its engine, a feature that in that era – the late 80s – came with large doses of boost and lag in equal measure. Despite delivering almost 500 CV of power and an ultra-lightweight construction (1,100 kg), the Ferrari F40 does not go below 4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, which makes it the first victim of the new Audi TT RS.
2. Ferrari F430: 4 seconds

The Ferrari F430 is one of the most interesting models for the most enthusiastic buyer due to its value on the used market; today its price has dropped by more than half in many cases and without excessive mileage. The Italian supercar offers a V8 engine producing 490 CV of power and a weight of 1,450 kg; the Audi TT RS weighs 1,515 kg. Even so, the Italian model is four tenths slower than the German sports car.
3. Audi R8 V10: 3.9 seconds

Despite its 525 CV of power and the Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the first generation of the Audi R8 V10 cannot keep up with its smaller sibling from 0 to 100 km/h.
4. Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997): 3.7 seconds

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS was never built to win a drag race. The German sports car stands out for offering a driving experience comparable to that of a racing car. It is one of the few supercars of its era offered with a manual gearbox, and perhaps for that reason it would be unable to catch the Audi TT RS in a straight-line race, at least until they passed 100 km/h.
5. Mercedes SLS AMG: 3.7 seconds

The Mercedes SLS AMG features a powerful 6.3-litre V8 engine producing a whopping 571 CV. Its weight, 1,609 kg, is relatively higher than that of the Audi TT RS, but its power-to-weight ratio is better than the latter’s. Even so, the Mercedes SLS AMG is outpaced in acceleration by the Audi TT RS by a tenth of a second.
