89.7% of drivers prefer the MOT to stay as it is, according to AECA-ITV

The plan to allow MOT inspections to be carried out at dealerships and independent workshops continues to be opposed by the MOT association. AECA-ITV has commissioned a survey which found that 89.7% of drivers prefer the MOT to stay as it is.
The secretary general of the Spanish Association of Collaborating Entities of the Administration in Vehicle Technical Inspection has stated that this study confirms that the current system of technical inspection stations maintains the reliability and quality of inspections, and that the plan proposed by the government “goes against the independence that this inspection service demands, and therefore against road safety”.
The level of satisfaction revealed by the survey tells us that, in general, users’ satisfaction is very high, rated at 8.1 out of 10. Furthermore, 66% of users say that the current MOT system contributes a great deal or quite a lot to road safety, and 64% believe it has a great or considerable influence in reducing accidents.
Who will be right, and how was this survey carried out? Given the perception of the opinion of users who attend the MOT stations, these figures from a survey commissioned by the association, which may well show results convenient to whoever orders the study, seem hard to understand. It would make little sense for the government to plan changes to keep happy a hypothetical 7% of users who want radical changes to the MOT system.

Es lo lógico, el consumidor es listo y sabe que si el taller y el centro de inspección coinciden los desperfectos pueden ser infinitos…
Espero que la ley ITV se mantenga tal y como está y el consumidor medio no salga perdiendo (como siempre)
