A Ferrari LaFerrari has an accident in Monaco

There are things that are practically unavoidable, such as traffic accidents. Millions of vehicles driving on the same streets…

What is far less likely is for a vehicle limited to just 499 units worldwide to be involved in a road accident, as has happened with this Ferrari LaFerrari.

One of the fastest, most exclusive and most efficient Ferrari models in the history of the Italian marque has been involved in a road accident in Monaco, in the city of Monte Carlo. Fortunately, there were no personal consequences. This minor incident also involved a VW Golf, which also suffered some material damage.

Judging by the images available to us, the incident has been more damaging for the Ferrari, whose front end has been seriously affected. By contrast, the Golf has barely suffered some damage to the left corner of its front. This is due to the nature of the materials from which the Ferrari is built.

The LaFerrari is built from carbon fibre, which is extremely resistant to impacts. It is designed to absorb the energy of a collision and distribute it through the vehicle’s structure, sacrificing the parts in its path while keeping the safety cell—the passenger compartment—intact.
This is essentially what has happened to the Italian hypercar, which will spend a while in the workshop.

This is not the first accident involving this model from the Modena factory, since a pre-series unit was written off during dynamic testing after colliding with a lorry.
Thousands of road accidents occur every day around the world, but we are sure this one will be very painful for the insurance company that has to pay for the repair of the Ferrari.

The person responsible for the accident is unknown, but if it was the driver of the Golf, we are convinced that their insurer will not renew the policy…
