A Lamborghini Aventador is humiliated by a Tesla Model X in an acceleration race
The Tesla Model X’s instant acceleration helped it overpower one of the fastest supercars on the market, the Lamborghini Aventador

Like all the models Tesla has launched to date, the Model X has already earned the title of “giant killer” for its incredible performance in the famous drag races against rivals that were, on paper, more powerful. The latest victim of the Tesla SUV was none other than the Lamborghini Aventador.
The Model X’s latest drag race victory took place at Palm Beach International Raceway. Naturally, the SUV from Tesla was the most powerful version in the range, the P100D, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Lamborghini Aventador has over 150 CV more power than the electric model, and its weight is considerably lower, and both feature all-wheel drive.
As we could have predicted, the Tesla Model X clearly outpaces the Italian supercar off the line – the instant acceleration of electric cars is always an advantage at the start – but what is surprising is that as the meters pass, the Lamborghini Aventador does not make up enough ground to overtake the electric model before covering the quarter mile. A victory for the Tesla SUV, which also became the fastest production crossover over the quarter mile, with a time of 11.41 seconds.

To top it all off, the Tesla Model X achieved this record with a 78% state of charge, which at first glance seems like a disadvantage, since all Tesla vehicles deliver better performance with a full charge.
