A limited edition of the Land Rover Defender arrives, with a naturally aspirated engine producing 405 CV
Land Rover is celebrating, and to mark its anniversary it has created this special edition of the Defender. It features a naturally aspirated V8 producing 405 CV and 515 Nm.

This week we have been focused on iconic vehicles that have marked a before and after in the history of the automotive industry. Among them is the Land Rover Defender, one of the brand’s longest-running models, though it sadly bowed out two years ago. Nevertheless, the British firm wanted to commemorate this iconic vehicle before announcing its successor, and that is why it has developed this limited edition.
This is because Land Rover turns seventy, and there is no better way to celebrate than by recreating one of its most special models. The Defender remains faithful to the version that left the production line in 2016, but it features a great surprise on the mechanical side. Without a doubt, this special edition will give the English 4×4 great value for fans of the model.
As we have mentioned, there are no notable changes to its styling; it keeps an exterior frozen in time, something that forms part of the essence of the purest Defender. Land Rover will allow its lucky buyers to choose from eight different colours, which will contrast with the black-painted roof and the door handles finished in chrome, subtly reflecting its classic philosophy. But this is not only seen on the exterior, but also on the interior.

The cabin still exudes a clear classic spirit, in which modern technology blends perfectly with a styling that is in keeping with the philosophy of the Defender. The infotainment system and the steering wheel still maintain a vintage look, but the designers have fitted bucket-style racing seats, which fit perfectly with the sporty spirit of this special edition.
And it is indeed special, since its interior houses a naturally aspirated V8 engine, which is the icing on the cake. Although it may not seem so, the engine also helps keep intact what the Defender is, as it arrives at a time when naturally aspirated engines are tending to disappear. The heart of the English off-roader produces 405 CV of power and 515 Nm of torque, figures that allow it to reach 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 km/h. At the same time, the engine is paired with a ZF eight-speed gearbox.

These elements make the Defender a unique vehicle, which is also due to the fact that only 150 units of this special edition will be produced. Like any limited version, its price is considerably higher, and this time it was no different. To get your hands on this new Land Rover Defender, you will need to pay £150,000, roughly 170,000 euros at the current exchange rate.
