A more powerful and radical Kia Stinger GT may be on its way
Kia may be working on an even more radical Stinger, as the spotted test mules suggest, and it could exceed 400 CV.

There was a time when the sports saloon segment was booming, and a potential, well-heeled customer seeking performance and versatility in one would not consider any other type of car. Over time, we have witnessed the birth of a titanic hegemony of high-performance SUVs, a segment that has gradually supplanted the saloons that enjoyed such success in the past. Fortunately for us, however, there are still brands that are committed to this type of vehicle.
It was in 2017 that Kia surprised the world with a car that had little or nothing to do with what we had known up to that point, the Stinger. It is a coupé-style saloon that combines styling with muscle, two traits that give the Korean car a superb presence on the road.
However, Kia did not only ensure it offered a saloon with a sporty look, but also performance to match. Although the Korean firm offers several variants of the Stinger, more nostalgic and purist customers can opt for the GT, a badge that hides a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 capable of producing 370 CV and 510 Nm of torque, but the story doesn’t end here.

The company’s engineers have been working on what promises to be an even more radical version of the Stinger, which could be based on the GT. Considering that some of its main rivals sit a step above, it is no surprise that Kia wants to close the gap.
For now, only some test mules have been spotted, showing a more voluminous quad exhaust outlet and a more aggressive, wider bodywork. Given this, we can expect that variant of the Stinger GT to use the same V6, only this time tuned to deliver more than 400 CV, and with a strong chance of taking aim at the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C 43.

Either way, the world is about to witness the arrival of an even more sporty offering from Kia, one that could be enough incentive to foresee the arrival of more models of a similar kind. As things stand, its presentation is not expected until October, the month in which the Paris Motor Show is scheduled to take place.
