A Mustang on the Empire State Building

A curious photo of a FordMustang placed on top of the Empire State Building, one of the tallest buildings in the United States and certainly one of the most iconic alongside the Statue of Liberty. In 1965, Ford a way was sought to haul the disassembled parts of a FordMustang up to one of the building’s terraces and leave it there for a while for aerial views.
The car stayed on the terrace for about 5 months, after which it was dismantled, since lifting it up through the elevators fully assembled was impossible, and removed. The good publicity that having one of your cars perched atop American imperialism must have been is probably incalculable by now.
Something similar has recently been achieved by placing a PorschePanamera on the 94th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center. This time, however, the elevators were large enough and there was no need to dismantle the car. The two original stories can be read here the first one, about the Empire State, and here the second, about the Shanghai Center.
