A unique BMW i8 Roadster to fight ocean pollution
A body painted by Milan Kuc, a Czech artist, is the proposal for a charity auction benefiting an NGO dedicated to clearing plastic from the oceans

Major car manufacturers are not immune to environmental problems, even though they have a rather bad reputation regarding the polluting processes they use to build their vehicles. But they are not only working to minimise the environmental impact of those processes; they also support, albeit indirectly, campaigns to improve the state of nature. One such case is this unique car, a BMW i8 Roadster that has been decorated to be sold at a charity auction.
The NGO that will benefit from whatever is raised at this auction is The Ocean Cleanup, an organisation dedicated to cleaning plastic from the oceans. To raise as much money as possible, the promoters of the idea have decided to decorate the body of the BMW i8 Roadster with an original drawing by Czech artist Milan Kuc.

The painter has dedicated himself to depicting nature on the body of the German car, creating a very spectacular and evocative painting. The painting is called “4 Elements” and highlights several of the many problems the environment is facing. Yes, but creating a spectacular pictorial ensemble that shows some of the elements of nature that currently face serious problems.

The bonnet depicts a large butterfly, while on one of the sides you can see elements of earth and air, with hills, bees and hills with trees. On the other side, the problems of the seas and water in general are addressed, with plastic as one of the main problems facing the oceans.
At the rear, the image is completed with fire and a starry sky. The BMW i8 Roadster has become a canvas on which the artist has left his mark to raise awareness among everyone of the problems the environment faces today. Before going up for auction, this one-of-a-kind BMW i8 Roadster will travel to various locations, such as a BMW dealership in Prague and the BMW Museum in Munich.
The engine of this one-off unit will not change and is the same 1.5-litre block, which delivers 228 CV and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. To this engine is added the electric motor that adds the equivalent of 386 CV. A 6-speed transmission provides the final touch to the propulsion of a car that offers exclusivity that, moreover, is charitable.
