124 Spider Abarth Convertibles Geneva Motor Show
Abarth goes all in and announces a 124 GT with a carbon-fibre hardtop for Geneva
The Abarth 124 Spider receives a special variant called GT, featuring a new hardtop roof built in carbon fibre. We will see it in Geneva.

The Geneva Motor Show is just around the corner, and manufacturers are busy “polishing” the final details to present their new releases.
Italian brand Abarth doesn’t want to miss the opportunity and has prepared a surprise for Geneva: a spicy convertible.
Yes, we are talking about the Abarth 124 Spider, the only Abarth convertible on sale. The 124 Spider hit the market a couple of years ago thanks to a close collaboration between Mazda and FCA, although with different philosophies. The 124 leans towards a more laid-back character, while the Abarth variant has a much more dynamic personality.
Powered by a punchy 1.4 MultiAir turbo with 170 CV and a 6-speed manual gearbox, the Abarth 124 Spider has met the demands of those looking for a sporty convertible with character and an aggressive styling, without having to spend an enormous amount of money.
Now, the guys at Abarth have announced the arrival of a special version of the Abarth 124 Spider called GT, which focuses mainly on very attractive styling thanks to the presence of an element never before seen on the Italian model. Yes, we are talking about a manually retractable hardtop.

Built as a single piece, this hardtop has also been made from carbon fibre, and additionally features a heated rear window and safety latches. As it should be, the overall look is striking, offering an image similar to that of a coupé with the advantages of enjoying a convertible whenever the mood calls for it.
In addition to the hardtop, other styling enhancements have been added, such as dark grey details (gun grey) or 17-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish and a design specific to this version. Without a doubt, a real eye-catcher.
