ABT gives 400 CV to the Audi S3 Sedán

Some will say that 300 CV is enough for the compact Audi S3 Sedán, whose 2.0-litre TFSI engine allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with the six-speed manual gearbox, and in 4.9 seconds when specified with the optional S tronic automatic transmission, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Its bigger brother, the Audi RS3 Sportback, features the five-cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI engine that delivers 367 CV and 465 Nm of torque, figures that allow it to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.3 seconds before hitting the same top speed.
The four-ring badge aims to differentiate both versions of the Audi A3, hence the jump in power or the engine size. But the German tuner ABT has slammed the table with its latest preparation, proving that the Audi S3 Sedán can be more powerful than the RS3. As a result, the tuner has managed to raise the power produced by the four-cylinder engine to 400 CV, while the torque is 100 Nm higher, bringing the overall total to 480 Nm.

Although ABT has not revealed performance data for the Audi S3 Sedán after it has passed through its hands, it is expected to improve on the RS3’s acceleration figures, either through the increase in power or the responsiveness of the smaller-displacement engine. Either way, it should reach 100 km/h from a standstill with the manual transmission in under five seconds, while with the automatic option it should beat the times of the Audi RS3.
On the other hand, ABT wanted the S3 Sedán to receive a series of aesthetic improvements that match its level of preparation. It gets a new front grille with inserts in the bumper, while the rear now features a stainless steel exhaust silencer with chrome black finishes. Other options on the menu include 18- to 20-inch alloy wheels, exclusive floor mats, integrated entry lights and a rear stabiliser bar.
