Alpina B3 Touring, this is the M3 Touring that all BMW enthusiasts have been waiting for
The Alpina B3 Touring unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show will start reaching its owners next summer.

Many BMW enthusiasts, especially fans of the high-performance models from the BMW M sports division, have been longing for the launch of a BMW M3 Touring. This dream has existed ever since the Bavarian brand showed, only as a concept, a touring version of its legendary BMW M3 E46.
Now, Alpina has set out to fulfill the dreams of all lovers of these models by presenting at the Frankfurt Motor Show a heavily upgraded version of one of its most iconic models. This is the Alpina B3 Touring, which will soon rival the Audi RS4 Avant and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. The Alpina B3 Touring is powered by the S58 twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline engine.

In addition, it is tuned to deliver a maximum of 462 CV and 700 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive. The new Alpina B3 Touring also features a limited-slip rear differential and an optimised launch control function for the 0 to 200 km/h sprint.
Alpina has not provided 0 to 100 km/h figures, but it has a top speed exceeding 300 km/h in Sport+ mode; the remaining modes are Comfort, Comfort+ and Sport. The suspension has been updated with Eibach springs, larger anti-roll bars and variable damping control. As for the braking system, the front discs measure 395 mm and the rear discs 345 mm, with four-piston fixed calipers finished in Alpina blue and bearing the brand logo in white. If customers opt for lightweight perforated brake discs with heat-resistant pads, these are available for an extra charge.

Alpina B3 Touring, the dream of many
Further highlighting the tuned design of the BMW 3 Series Touring, some aerodynamic improvements can be seen, which provide better cooling and reduce lift at high speeds for greater stability. A pair of twin exhaust pipes is integrated into the rear diffuser, which features small fins in the middle for a more dynamic look.
The 19-inch Dynamic wheels are fitted with staggered tyres: 255/35 at the front and 265/35 at the rear. If the 20-inch wheels are chosen, they are fitted with 255/30 tyres at the front and 265/30 at the rear. Metallic blue and green paint finishes are reserved for the Alpina models. If these are not to the customer’s liking, a range of colours from the Bavarian brand and from BMW Individual can be chosen.

More personalisation options are available for the cabin, including Lavalina leather, piping, stitching, embroidery and embossing made to the customer’s specifications, together with new door sills and floor mats. The digital instrument display with the new Alpina design, the infotainment system, navigation, parking assistant, Active Guard Plus and more are also standard. Alpina will launch the new B3 Touring in the first quarter of 2020, with deliveries starting next summer, and prices will be announced in due course.
