An immaculate Lancia Delta HF Integrale unit, up for auction. The perfect Christmas gift?

HF Integrale 5

At this special time of year, children spend hours devouring toy catalogues, choosing their favourites so that Father Christmas and the Three Kings can take careful note.

Those of us who are no longer children, however, have plenty of other things to take care of, though we also still hold out hope for some special little present… like this Lancia Delta HF Integrale that will go under the hammer in February. Pay attention, Melchior and company!

The Lancia Delta, in its original form, that compact launched in the 1980s, came in several, shall we say… souped-up versions. One of the best known is the HF Integrale, a variant with a turbocharged petrol engine and four-wheel drive, a close cousin of the rally version of the same Italian model.

Nowadays, finding a unit from that limited series is almost a mission impossible. If we also want that unit to be in museum-worthy condition, the odds are practically nil. Yet today we bring you one of those unicorns, a truly spectacular unit that will go under the hammer at RM Auctions in a couple of months.

This Delta is equipped with a 2.0 Turbo four-cylinder inline engine, capable of producing 210 CV. It is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, which sends power to the road through a permanent all-wheel drive system. The vehicle is in astonishing condition, both inside and out; it lacks no detail, and it seems the 23 years it has had have passed it by entirely.

According to the auction house, it is unit number 184 of the 310 that make up this special edition. It has covered only 30,000 km and, of course, comes with all the original manuals, documentation, two keys, and even the original radio. The final sale price is expected to be around €150,000. I’ve been good, haven’t I, dear Three Kings of the East?
