Antonino Labate, COO of CUPRA, has stated that seven new models will be launched by 2021
Antonino Labate, COO of CUPRA, has confirmed that seven models will join the brand by 2021, alongside a possible car of its own development.

CUPRA, a brand that shares DNA directly with SEAT, has arrived as an independent company determined not only to revolutionise the sports car segment it belongs to, but also to offer its own vehicles that we will not find at the parent company. After eight months on the market, Antonino Labate, COO of the Spanish firm, has confirmed what many have been hoping for: the arrival of more models from CUPRA. In this way, the brand will not only expand its model range, but could also go as far as developing a unique and exclusive model that does not take as its basis any of the vehicles present at SEAT.
Specifically, seven models will arrive by 2021 under the CUPRA name, which will result in a range of vehicles large enough to make up a completely independent brand. For now, few details have been provided about these vehicles, but each and every one of them will follow the same philosophy that we can see in the recently launched CUPRA Ateca.
But CUPRA has a series of surprises in store for its future customers that will accompany the new models arriving gradually. Labate, who presents himself as Director of Business Development, Strategy, Brand and Operations at CUPRA, has confirmed that we will also see various special editions of the Ateca as well as of the future models that will share a line-up with the Spanish SUV.

These new variants will be limited to 1,000 units, and will offer substantial changes compared with the standard models. At the same time, they will also include exclusive equipment and a special finish, which may also feature mechanical improvements. However, the aspect that generates the most expectation regarding CUPRA is, without a doubt, the possibility of a model with 100% DNA from this new brand.
Antonino Labate has addressed this point, stating that “this is the desire we have, or rather one of the desires we have at the brand: a very sporty car that embodies the philosophy of CUPRA”. It may also be that a completely new car is born as a CUPRA and later becomes part of the SEAT range too, with different specifications.” In this way, we will see synergies not only from SEAT to CUPRA, but also the other way round.

In this way, both Labate and CUPRA confirm that they have arrived to stay, with great ambition, seeking to offer a unique brand and to revolutionise the segments they compete in. With this premise, we can sense that it will not be long before models such as the Ibiza or the future León join this new family and adopt the CUPRA name to deliver far higher performance.
