Are we facing the final days of the Ferrari F12berlinetta?

The Ferrari F12berlinetta could be in its final days. Following the recent statements by Sergio Marchionne and the latest reports from FerrariChat, the model from the “cavallino rampante” brand is running out of time.

In those statements we mentioned, Marchionne said that all of his brand’s models would have a lifecycle of eight years, with a mid-cycle revision, that is, roughly four years after launch, each would receive a facelift, update, restyling, or whatever we want to call it.

If we take into account that the F12berlinetta debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and that we are already in 2016…, the math checks out. The powerful and luxurious Italian supercar is about to disappear. Furthermore, and according to FerrariChat, orders for this model are no longer being accepted, so you can say goodbye to your dream of buying a brand-new genuine Ferrari F12berlinetta.

The most recent example of a four-year replacement was the FF, which debuted in 2011 and earlier this year received a rejuvenation with a model similar in both styling and mechanics, though with a very different name: the Ferrari GTC4Lusso.

The Ferrari F12berlinetta is a model powered by a V12 engine (hence the number in its name) with a displacement of 6.3 litres that produces no less than 740 horsepower and almost 700 Nm of torque. On top of all this, there is a power-to-weight ratio of just over 2 kilos per horsepower and rear-wheel drive. However, the F12berlinetta was not designed to tear up lap times on a circuit, although it obviously could, but rather with an eye on elegance.
