Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake: for travelling in style

Aston Martin has just unveiled its latest creation alongside Zagato, the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, based on the Vanquish S but with a family-oriented look.

The concept of a Shooting Brake arrived in our market a few years ago, and most of us loved it. It is a difficult concept to define, but we could consider it a family three- or five-door coupé. A clear example that comes to mind is the Ferrari GTC4Lusso or the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake, whose name already says it all. Aston Martin has wanted to make the most of its magnificent design and has created a new work of art, the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake.

The British firm is known for creating some of the most elegant supercars in the world, and even more so when it does so hand in hand with Zagato. It was a few months ago when Aston Martin unveiled its latest creation together with the Italian company. At that moment we met the Zagato coupé, a beautiful and very special sports car whose production would be limited. But the coupé was not the only one to join the Zagato family.

The beauty extended to the creation of two more variants, not counting the one that is the subject of today’s article, the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, which made a cameo a few months ago and is now revealed in all its splendour. Aston Martin developed the Volante and Speedster variants, of which 99 and 28 units would be built respectively. This makes the group of vehicles from Zagato one of the most exclusive. There are a total of 325 cars resulting from Aston Martin’s work with the Italians, and the Shooting Brake will also be a limited edition of 99 units.

All the Zagato models are based on the Aston Martin Vanquish S, and the Shooting Brake is no exception. The powerful naturally aspirated V12 also makes an appearance in the most radical estate from the British brand, producing 600 CV. Aston Martin has not yet released performance data, but it will surely claim a 0-100 km/h time of under 4 seconds. All the panels of the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake are made of carbon fibre, which will considerably reduce the weight of the supercar.

Despite the concept presented by the Shooting Brake, this is a model with only two seats, but with a large boot space, as befits a good GT. This makes it possible to enjoy the new creation from Aston Martin as a couple and travel comfortably with luggage. The new Zagato arrives to compete directly with the aforementioned Ferrari GTC4Lusso, which has a similar concept and also features a V12 heart. The first units of the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake will begin production in 2018.
