Audi presents its new V6 TDI Clean Diesel engines

The four-ring brand has announced the arrival of a new generation of TDI engines, designed to be fitted to a wide range of Audi models.
This new engine family will improve performance and consumption compared with its predecessors, while also being much more environmentally friendly.
With a 90º V6 cylinder configuration, the total displacement of these engines is 2,967 cc. Its commercial name will be 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel, and it will be available in two power outputs.
218 and 272 CV are the power figures Audi has set for this new engine, which in its most powerful version will deliver 600 Nm, a very high torque figure that will help provide great smoothness and strength when moving the vehicles of the four-ring brand.
The changes compared with its predecessors focus mainly on its internal architecture, as internal friction has been reduced and components such as the sump and oil pump have been updated.
Another key element is the particulate filter, which works together with the SCR exhaust gas catalytic converter, allowing an almost complete reduction of harmful gases such as nitrogen oxide.
All these modifications and updates allow these new engines to consume up to 13% less than the engines they replace, emitting up to 15 grams less of CO2. They are expected to reach production lines within a few weeks.
