Audi Q3 Sportback 2020: this is the sporty coupé version of the crossover from the four-ring brand

The Audi Q3 Sportback 2020 will arrive in autumn, and two special editions will be launched: Edition One Dew Silver and Edition One Mythos Black.

Audi Q3 Sportback

The four-ring brand has just unveiled the new Audi Q3 Sportback 2020. It is based on a standard Audi Q3, but the Sportback offers a much sportier look, as it adopts a single-frame black grille and trapezoidal air intakes. The new crossover also features a bonnet with sculpted lines and an optional Matrix LED lighting system.

The sporty styling continues further back, as the designers gave the bodywork a chiselled look, with lines flowing over the wheel arches. Of course, the biggest changes are the sloping roofline and the waistline, which now has an upward slope. This helps the model look much more dynamic. The brand itself claims this makes the model look longer than the standard Audi Q3.

Other notable styling features include the plastic cladding, elegant rear windows and a rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. In addition, the set is complemented by a spoiler on the tailgate, a hidden exhaust and wraparound rear lights.

The cabin is dominated by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system surrounded by black details. The new crossover also features a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

Audi Q3 Sportback 2020 arrives with an extra dose of sportiness

In Europe, the model will be available with two engines. On one hand, there is the Audi Q3 Sportback 35 TDI S tronic, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine capable of producing 150 CV and 340 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels. This allows the new model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds before reaching its top speed of 205 km/h.

The second option is the Audi Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro S tronic, which features a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with 230 CV and 350 Nm of maximum torque. It is also linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, but is paired with a quattro all-wheel-drive system. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 233 km/h.

Audi Q3 Sportback

The new Audi Q3 Sportback comes equipped with a wide range of driver assistance systems. Standard features include emergency braking and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control, parking assistant, rear cross-traffic alert and a 360º camera are also available as options.

The Audi Q3 Sportback will launch in Europe this autumn, and prices in Germany will start at €40,200 for the 35 TDI S tronic and €46,200 for the 45 TFSI quattro S tronic. To help promote the model, Audi will offer two special editions called Edition One Dew Silver and Edition One Mythos Black.

Named after the exterior paintwork, the special editions will be based on the Q3 Sportback S line and will be fitted with the black styling package. The models will also feature Matrix LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels and special interior trim.
