Audi Q5, one million units from the Ingolstadt plant

The craze for SUVs shows no sign of ending, and the models in this category are still at the very top of the wave. New generations of off-roaders designed for city drivers are gaining momentum, but models that have been on the market for several years are holding firm against that push. Such is the case of the Audi Q5, a model from the German company that has just rolled its one millionth unit§h6† off the Ingolstadt plant, a figure that attests to its popularity.
The model in question was a Q5 Azul Sepang§h8†, destined for a buyer in Germany who will soon have their new car in the garage. Before that, of course, it went through the traditional photo-op alongside all the members of the production line staff§h10†. Since its commercial debut, the Audi Q5, a mid-size SUV with luxury equipment§h12†, has been one of the favourites in its segment.

The German company’s second Premium SUV
The Audi Q5 has steadily increased its presence in the market over the yearsSince 2008, when this model was launched, Audi has lovingly looked after this SUV, which received a very warm welcome§h20† and quickly became one of the favourites in its range. Along with the Q7§h22†, a larger model, buyers began to take a keen interest in this car, which combined all the power of an SUV with the elegance and comfort of a Audi.
In terms of sales, 268,968 units§h24† of this model were sold in 2015. This represents an 8% increase over sales in 2014, and this year the sales increase is expected to continue on the same path, because during the first half of the year it has risen 4.7%§h26† compared with the same period last year.
The production of this Premium SUV§h28† also takes place in other markets, such as China and India, at the company’s plants in those countries. In Asia, cars are adapted to the tastes of local markets so as not to lose market share and to continue being the best-selling Premium SUV in its category.
