Audi Winter Driving Experience 2020: learn extreme driving on snow

Audi Winter Driving Experience 2020 returns with this new snow season. One of the manufacturer’s fun courses will once again be held at Baqueira Beret and Sierra Nevada.

As is customary, Audi will take its range of quattro all-wheel-drive vehicles to demonstrate their reliability and performance in an iconic setting, such as the ski resorts of Sierra Nevada and Baqueira Beret.

In both locations, the highest altitude and the largest skiable area in Spain respectively, circuits designed for the occasion are set up on snow and ice, where participants can enjoy a privileged environment, while improving their driving technique and enjoying a Audi behind the wheel.

It is a great opportunity to improve your skills on a terrain that is, in fact, unfamiliar to most drivers. Furthermore, thanks to the fantastic scenery of both options, you will have the chance to be surrounded by beautiful villages and even take the opportunity to ski as well.

Among the vehicles of the four-ring brand that participants can drive on the courses are some of the best representatives of the Audi range with quattro traction, such as the Audi Q7 e-tron TDI quattro or the Audi TT Coupé Launch Edition 45 TFSI quattro.

Alongside them, participants will also be able to drive several sporty models from the S and RS ranges of Audi, among which the Audi RS 5 Sportback, the Audi RS 4 Avant and the Audi RS 3 Sportback stand out.

We had the opportunity to attend, a few months ago, the impressive Jerez circuit with the Audi Driving Experience: Sportscar. At the controls of vehicles such as the Audi RS5 and an impressive 600 CV Audi R8 Performance, we had one of the best experiences of our lives behind the wheel.

Despite the difference from the previous course, we are sure that the attention to detail and the interesting challenges of the snow tests will make you spend an incredible time.

As for the courses, this year the tests are designed to work on anticipation, agility and reaction time on slippery surfaces, exploiting the full potential of Audi’s quattro technology and rehearsing the operation of the various active safety systems.

Each course will be taught by a team of specialised instructors and consists of a theoretical class and a series of specific driving tests. Some of the practical exercises are oversteer tests, control of inertia and turning techniques, all of them necessary to refine the skills needed to safely face the most common unexpected situations any driver may encounter on the road.

The new Audi Winter Driving Experience snow driving courses will start on 18 January. At both Sierra Nevada and Baqueira Beret, they will be held every weekend until 15 March, except for the weekend of 1 and 2 February.
