Australian police add an Audi S7 Sportback to their fleet
Police fleets usually include some luxury model, above the average of the vehicles used on a regular basis, which offers a significant improvement over ordinary police cars and gives an elegant, luxurious touch to their more social activities

Police forces often surprise us with the presence of some models we would consider luxury and poorly suited to police duties. Without going to the extremes seen with the Dubai police, which field the most striking models, there are cars that are dressed in police colours and look very good in them. That said, they are normally not cars used for high-speed pursuits.
Such is the case of the Audi S7 Sportback that has joined the fleet of police vehicles in Lake Illawarra, in New South Wales, which will use this sports saloon that has brought fashionable elegance to the police forces. The model has been provided by the brand’s Australian division, which has dressed this unit in a livery chosen by Facebook users from the area, who were consulted about the different options available for it.

Local thieves are going to be out of luck, as they will not be chased by this car, which is reserved for the social events held by the police. It will be a VIP escort vehicle, used to attend those occasions where a good presence of the force is sought and a spectacular show of strength is needed.
And no wonder, because this model is equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers 450 CV and a maximum torque of 550 Nm, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The car will be in service for 12 months, and I suppose that once that period is over, the officers will be able to enjoy another of these cars, which we so enjoy seeing in police fleets.
Spain also has cars of this kind, always reserved for special services and which, unfortunately, we do not see on the streets as often as the city cars that officers use in their everyday duties.
