MG MG4 Electric Electric Cars Compact
Austria is the second European market where the MG4 Urban is sold
MG is doubling down on making electric mobility more accessible, combining competitive prices and local incentives in the Austrian market to achieve it.
MG Motor has finally begun selling the new MG4 Urban in the European Union, choosing Austria for this first step. As we already told you here on HighMotor, last January the British manufacturer, controlled by Chinese giant SAIC Motor, announced the sale of this model in Europe, starting with the United Kingdom. Just a few weeks later, it is now Austria’s turn.
Austrian customers who wish to can now place a reservation for this affordable compact electric model, with the first deliveries scheduled for April 2026.

The main appeal of this model is, without a doubt, its price. MG Motor offers the MG4 Urban in Austria equipped with a 43 kWh battery pack for just 19,990 euros. In any case, it should be noted that this price includes a total discount of 5,000 euros granted by the Austrian government, which requires the scrapping of an old vehicle. Without this discount, which applies exclusively to the Austrian market, the official price is around 25,000 euros.
Likewise, the MG4 Urban with the Comfort trim level, equipped with a 54 kWh battery pack, stays at 21,990 euros with the same discount applied. And one step up, the MG4 Urban Luxury, with the same 54 kWh battery pack but much better equipped, rises to 24,990 euros.
MG4 Urban: affordable electric
As we have already explained in previous posts, the MG4 Urban is the second generation of SAIC’s successful compact electric car under the MG brand. This model includes significant changes compared to the previous generation, which MG Motor will continue to sell in parallel. The MG4 Urban now places its powertrain on the front axle instead of the rear, also adopts a completely new platform, and its dimensions are larger – almost 11 centimeters longer.

For now, Austria is the only European Union market where MG Motor has officially confirmed the arrival of the MG4 Urban. However, given that only a few weeks have passed since the British manufacturer announced the sale of this model in the United Kingdom, it would not be surprising if history repeats itself and before long we have news of a new European market where the MG4 Urban will be on sale.
