The Chinese market has very attractive models at prices that surprise in the European and American markets, although differences are still present

The Chinese automotive market is quite more curious than the rest. In this Asian country there are quite curious models that turn out to be very affordable, although their external appearance and features look like a superior model. The Baojun 510 is a small SUV from the Chinese brand that offers all the features of a compact off-road vehicle and the look of this type of vehicle, but at a price far below its competitors.

It is true that this type of model does not come with the equipment used by more traditional brands and that this lower price has its reasons, but under normal circumstances, it may be what the average buyer is looking for and offer the service they want at a much more competitive price than other apparently similar models from more well-known brands.

The model was presented at the last Guangzhou Motor Show and after being launched with a 1.5-litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox, it now features an automated manual gearbox. This combines the advantages of both types of transmission and in this case offers the option of paddle shifters on the steering wheel, which makes shifting easier.

In addition, it includes an infotainment system controlled through an 8-inch LCD screen with connectivity to smartphones, electrically heated and foldable side mirrors with electronic controls, a rear camera, keyless entry and cruise control, so it has a good range of driver assistance features.

And best of all, the price of this model, which is only available in the Asian country. The model costs the equivalent of between 8,842 and 9,750 euros, so as you can see it is a more than appealing car for the price it sells at. In Europe we have something similar thanks to the Dacia Duster, but it would not hurt to have more options to choose from in the range, right?
