Ben Collins hired now by Fifth Gear

Does everyone already know who Ben Collins is? In case you were distracted and missed the whole Ben Collins dismissal opera at Top Gear, I’ll tell you that the lad even considered making his own show on English television or on any other channel in the country that would hand him a hefty cheque.

But something has happened that, honestly, I was already expecting. Ben Collins has been hired by Top Gear’s (weak) rival to take part in Fifth Gear, alongside Tiff Needell and Vicki Butler-Henderson.

The Stig’s participation in Fifth Gear will be subject to the criteria of the programme’s producers, since he will appear as The Stig, but also as himself, being one of the drivers. Everything has happened very quickly, from when we were used to seeing him in the white overalls beside Jeremy Clarkson, and the first Fifth Gear episode with The Stig will air next Friday.

Honestly, I don’t think Top Gear will lose viewers, but I think more than a few people are going to feel a certain curiosity about seeing the “mysterious” driver on the rival channel.
