After Porsche devoted significant effort to the 918 Spyder and the 911 Speedster, it has now turned its attention to the Cayman CS, a project that had been somewhat overshadowed so as not to steal the limelight or sales from the 911.

But Porsche has decided to give the green light to development of the Cayman CS (Club Sport), and it is even said to have already presented it to its dealers at a special event, one of those highly guarded evenings closely watched by the specialist media that have already become a tradition for the brand. This time, nothing about the Cayman CS has leaked, not even a single miserable photo.

According to the company’s confirmation regarding the Cayman CS, it seems it will be shown soon at the Los Angeles show, to go on sale at the end of 2011 as a 2012 model.

What we are certain of is that Porsche’s promise to breathe new life into the Cayman is going to be a perfect fit. A small redesign of the nose is expected, weight reduction, almost 350 horsepower (333 to be precise), and several tuning packages, initially only for the European market.
