Bentley Batur "The Black Rose": when exclusivity, luxury and craftsmanship come together
An anonymous owner of the exclusive Bentley Batur has wanted to make it even more special and unique, resulting in the one-off “The Black Rose”

Few people in the world have the privilege of accessing one of the just 18 units to be built of the Bentley Batur, the most powerful model ever produced by the people from Crewe, and if on top of that one of these people decides that such luxury and exclusivity is not enough and requests the help of the design craftsmen team at Bentley Mulliner to make their Batur even more distinctive and unique, if that is possible.
This is what has happened with one of the owners of the Bentley Batur, resulting in the Batur “The Black Rose”, a one-off commissioned by an anonymous client who also has the distinction of being one of only three Batur models that will have the steering wheel on the right. This collaboration has resulted in a unique vehicle whose theme revolves around something as beautiful and special as rose gold.

On top of the base price of the Batur “The Black Rose” you must add all the 18-carat rose gold that Mulliner’s craftsmen can install as part of the many innovative finishes that customers can request, materials ranging from aerospace titanium to sustainable textiles imitating leather made from by-products such as coffee, not forgetting a wide range of other leathers or woods, with the customer’s imagination practically as the only limit.

Furthermore, some of the inserts are printed in three-dimensional gold, elements for which Bentley turns to the goldsmith firm Cooksongold, combining innovative and advanced manufacturing technologies with more traditional materials and finishing techniques, all using sustainable raw materials since it comes from fully recycled jewellery. Not forgetting that all the pieces made for the Batur bear the hallmark of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and, all pieces manufactured in 2022, receive the commemorative stamp of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

In this way the Bentley Batur “The Black Rose” is presented with the exclusive paint commissioned by the client, Black Rose metallic, while the roof and pillars are painted in gloss Beluga. As a contrast we have Satin Rose Gold, found on elements such as the front grille surround, the front bumper inserts, the wing mirror housings, the skirts, the rear diffuser or as a detail on the enormous 22-inch tri-colour wheels behind which the brake calipers are painted black.

Inside, sporty yet elegant, black is chosen as the main colour for elements such as the upholstery in Beluga leather combined with tweed fabric in Carbon Grey, while for the trim we have gloss black together with the metallic areas painted in metallic Black Rose. The distinctive and striking note is provided by the 18-carat rose gold applied to elements such as the iconic ventilation controls, the door sills, the detail lines or the central console and, even, the rose gold insert on the steering wheel at its 12 o’clock position and at the bottom.

Mechanically there are obviously no surprises: the Bentley Batur “The Black Rose” uses the impressive 6,000 cc W12 engine that delivers 710 CV and an enormous torque of 1,000 Nm, managed through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engineering masterpiece produces a spectacular sound through the sport titanium exhaust system fitted as standard.
