BMW i4 M, this is what the sporty version of the electric saloon sounds like
BMW’s electric saloon will have a sporty version under the M badge, and the brand has worked with Hans Zimmer to give it its sound.

For a few months now we have been hearing about the BMW i4, an electric saloon set to be one of the brand’s most attractive cars in recent years. But besides the base model, the brand has also talked about a sporty version under the M badge, the one the brand uses for this type of high-performance vehicle. And although the details are still a mystery, we already know how this version of the model will sound.
The big question was how this high-performance electric model would sound. Sound is important in this type of car, so BMW has wanted to develop a more intense sound than its conventional sibling. And to do so, it has surprised us by enlisting the help of Hans Zimmer, one of the most recognised composers of film soundtracks.

We show you a video the brand has released, via Carscoops, which shows us the process of creating the model’s sound and, at the end, how the car will sound. The sound creation team has worked to show how the engine will sound, what sensations it will provide, and how it will manage to convey the strength a car of this type deserves through its sound.
We already know that electric mobility produces no sound, which makes for a calmer drive. And that is not something M versions of BMW are built for. And since a sound is needed to warn other road users, why not make it something worth listening to?
The resulting sound may seem insufficient for regular users of an M variant, but it is different from the one used by the base model and allows you to experience the changes in the engine, acceleration, gear changes and other moments when you should enjoy being behind the wheel.
No figures have been given, but this sound could belong to a model that will offer 390 kW, equivalent to 530 CV and that will give the driver a sporty experience the moment they start the engine and head out onto the road. Watch the video and discover how this spectacular and exciting sound is created.
