BMW M turns 50 in 2022 and is preparing many surprises

The BMW M badge was born in 1972 and in 2022 it celebrates its 50th anniversary, so interesting surprises are being prepared for fans of the sporting division.

Nuevo Logo Bmw M

On 1 April 1972, the BMW company launched its sporting division. It was called M and since then it has offered a large number of high-performance vehicles that have excited the brand’s fans and sports car enthusiasts. In 2022, the BMW M division turns 50 and several novelties will possibly arrive to celebrate it.

They have reported this in the magazine Auto Motor und Sport and, according to their publication, it will be a good year for those waiting for news from the brand. The main novelty will be a change of logo, so we will have a new image for the upcoming models.

50 years of BMW M

The German brand has registered the trademark ‘50 Jahre BMW M‘, so a special edition of several models under the M designation is anticipated. The German patent office has received all this information and we will surely learn all the details over the course of this year.

BMW has launched special versions to commemorate previous anniversaries, so it would not be surprising if it did the same with such a round figure. Half a century calls for celebrations. There are high expectations for what the sporting division of the sea will show us, although one of them is expected to be special variants of the M3 and M4, with the added possibility that the M2 will also be included.

In the case of the BMW M4, the latest version of this model has already been seen on the road, which receives the designation CLS, so it could lead this list of high-performance cars. But this model will not be the only one present at this anniversary: two new names have also been registered, Evo Sport and Evo Track.

These names could refer to the limited editions launched a few years ago, the BMW M3 E30, which were available under the names Evolution, Evolution II and Evolution Sport. The news is out there, but we still need to learn all the details and find out what the German brand will offer to celebrate this half-century.
