BMW M4 Competition vs BMW M4 GT3, how do they differ?

The BMW M4 GT3 is being put to the test ahead of its participation in the 24H Nürburgring. What do you think of the new racing model?

The BMW M4 Competition meets its racing sibling, the BMW M4 GT3. The designers and engineers of BMW and BMW Motorsport have shared interesting data about both cars, and the BMW M4 GT3 has already hit the track at Nürburgring with great success. Drivers Augusto Farfus and Jens Klingmann have already taken the wheel of this new track beast.

The Nürburgring circuit, with its more than 20 kilometres, has become the natural habitat of this beast, and it is the perfect place to develop this type of vehicle, as it features long straights, fast corners and big elevation changes; in short, everything BMW M Motorsport needs to get the best performance out of its cars. If a model passes the Nürburgring test, it is ready for anything.

What do you think of the new German racing model, the BMW M4 GT3?

The car has already been running and is gaining experience on the most demanding track in the world. In particular, the durability of parts under stress and the handling behaviour in certain situations are being observed. Jens Klingmann, driver of the BMW M4 GT3, has stated that “the debut of the BMW M4 GT3 on the Nordschleife has been very good. My first comment is: the BMW M4 GT3 has kept the strengths of its predecessor on the Nordschleife, but its weaknesses have been eliminated. Of course, this cannot be transferred 1:1 from such a special track, but as a driver you feel comfortable in the BMW M4 GT3 right from the start. It is very predictable and yet fast. It has been a lot of fun.”

Augusto Farfus, also a BMW driver, wanted to add that “it is a special honour for me to be so intensely involved in the development of the BMW M4 GT3 and now also to have taken part in the first laps of the legendary Nordschleife. Many thanks to BMW M Motorsport! Taking this route for the first time with a new vehicle is always special, because you never know exactly what to expect and how the vehicle will behave. The BMW M4 GT3 has made a very good impression. The driving experience is very good and we had no technical problems on the demanding course.”

At the beginning of June, the BMW M4 GT3 will return to the Nürburgring to continue being tested. In addition, the BMW M4 GT3 will be presented to the public during the 24H Nürburgring, although it will also take part in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS).
